roadtripping with toddlers and infants: tips + tricks

roadtripping with toddlers and infants: tips + tricks

Hi! I’ve had a lot of people reach out asking me for road trip with kids tips, so wanted to share a few things that have worked for us! I’m not an expert, and I think even the most well-traveled, laid-back parents and kids have rough travel days. We absolutely do! That being said, we have done MANY long road trips with Lucy starting at an early age, and recently did a 8 hour road trip with both girls to/from Ohio. We’ve learned a lot from many trips, and try to tweak our adventures accordingly. Before I  dive into specifics on road tripping with kids, […]

travel adventures: a long weekend in kentucky

travel adventures: a long weekend in kentucky

Hi guys! As you might know from following my blog, we love traveling. We typically do an international trip or two every year, as well as many domestic trips to visit friends and family. With COVID-19, we opted to not do a big international trip this year which is SUCH a bummer, but certainly the right decision. To cure our travel woes, we decided to just make the most of it and try to focus on taking some fun family road trips this summer instead! This past weekend, we did a weekend in middle of nowhere Kentucky (Owenton, to be exact) with my parents and […]

travel adventures: algarve coast, portugal

travel adventures: algarve coast, portugal

After we visited Morocco, we flew to Lisbon, Portugal and picked up our rental car. We drove immediately from the airport to the Algarve Coast of Portugal. For this part of our trip, we planned to stay in two different areas along the coast, about an hour apart from each other. The Algarve coast was truly so magical and reminded me SO much of Northern California. So many times, E and I would just say – isn’t this just like Big Sur or Mendocino? When we travel, we typically stay in airbnbs, but for this trip, we decided to stay at resorts. We thought that […]

travel adventures: marrakesh, morocco

travel adventures: marrakesh, morocco

We got back from our vacation a few weeks ago and I’m determined to share photos from our trip sooner than I did last year! Here’s to hoping I get all my blog posts up before the end of the year. 😅Anyway, this year, we spent two weeks visiting Marrakesh, Morocco, the Algarve coast of Portugal and Lisbon, Portugal. Our first stop was Marrakesh! I visited Marrakesh with three coworkers-turned-friends 7ish years ago on a whim after a work trip in Barcelona. We were only there for a few days, but the trip stuck with me and I’ve been itching to go back to Morocco. […]

a (new) local’s guide to nashville

a (new) local’s guide to nashville

October means we’ve officially lived in Nashville for one year! I’m certainly still new here, but definitely have our favorite spots to eat, drink and explore around Nashville. I get asked about my go-to spots, so wanted to finally compile into one blog post for you! I did share a Nashville guide a few years ago (when we were visiting for work all the time) but this is an updated, more local-ish guide to Nashville. We are prettttty obsessed with our own neighborhood of East Nashville and spend a majority of our time here, which is reflected in my recommendations below. I’m probably a little […]

traveling with toddlers: long flight tips

traveling with toddlers: long flight tips

Lucy has officially been on 25 flights in her 1.5 years of life! A few months ago, I shared a massive, detailed blog post with detailed flight tips for traveling with babies and toddlers. Since Lucy started walking (around 13 months) the flights she’s taken have been pretty short, minus one roundtrip flight from Nashville to San Francisco. We are gearing up for a couple LONG flights with Lucy in September and October. I’ve been preparing for these flights a little differently than our other trips with Lucy, given how mobile and wiggly she is, and now that she is on one big nap per […]
