traveling with toddlers: long flight tips

traveling with toddlers: long flight tips

Lucy has officially been on 25 flights in her 1.5 years of life! A few months ago, I shared a massive, detailed blog post with detailed flight tips for traveling with babies and toddlers. Since Lucy started walking (around 13 months) the flights she’s taken have been pretty short, minus one roundtrip flight from Nashville to San Francisco. We are gearing up for a couple LONG flights with Lucy in September and October. I’ve been preparing for these flights a little differently than our other trips with Lucy, given how mobile and wiggly she is, and now that she is on one big nap per […]

travel adventures: london (july 2019)

hello! earlier this summer, E and I went to London! we were there from Thursday morning – Tuesday morning and it was such a fun trip! these days, we usually travel with Lucy (and often Jack too 🐶) so this trip felt like a real vacation – no diapers to change, food to cut up, nap times to stick to, etc! we went to London together three years ago (Sept 2016) so it was fun to visit some of the spots we visited last time, and of course, go to lots of new spots too! I was about 9 weeks pregnant during the trip, but […]

travel adventures: paris (sept 2018)

Better late than never! I am finallllly getting around to sharing photos from the last leg of our Europe 2018 trip – Paris! It’s almost been a year since our trip, but wanted to share a few photos (Lucy was soooo tiny! 😭) and some favorite things to do in Paris. Our good friends Luke and Renee live there and compiled an amazing list of things to do / places to go, so here’s some Paris ideas from locals! 🇫🇷We went to a lot of these spots, but not all — you can’t go wrong with any of these spots. We stayed in Le Marais […]

flight tips for traveling with babies and young toddlers

Hi friends! I’ve had several people ask me to share my tips and tricks for flying with a baby and I’ve been meaning to write this post for a LONG time. ✈️When Lucy was younger, I shared a lot of tips on my Instagram Story (HERE) but I haven’t shared a lot of tips recently, so here it goes. ✨As a quick backstory: we decided early on that we weren’t going to let having a child stop us from traveling. Does it change the travel experience? ABSOLUTELY. Does it require wayyyy more planning + logistics and way less sleep? TOTALLY. But, I don’t regret any […]

travel adventures: belgium

travel adventures: belgium

Gravensteen Castle — touristy, but super cool to walk through an old castle. It was self-guided, and we could explore the entire thing — not just “sectioned off” areas you see sometimes in old home tours or museums. Plus, there was an epic view of Ghent from the top! We also took a day trip to the super cute town of Bruges. I had a lot of people tell me how much they loved visiting this adorable town. While there, we had breakfast (BAGELS!) at the v popular Sanservia Bagelsalon, visited the castle (Belfry of Bruges), had beers at Cambrinus and Huisbrouwerij De Halve Maan and […]

travel adventures: amsterdam

travel adventures: amsterdam

Finally getting around to sharing photos and some of our favorite places we visited in Europe! As a reminder, we were gone for a little over three weeks and visited Amsterdam, Belgium, the Champagne and Burgundy regions of France, and Paris. In case you missed all the photos, I shared everything here: #burdsleavethenest. This blog post will cover our first stop – AMSTERDAM! We absolutely LOVED Amsterdam and could totally see ourselves living there. People were super welcoming and super kind/friendly to us/Lucy. Everywhere we went, people stopped us to “talk to” Lucy. The city itself was charming with cobblestone streets and the canals everywhere, […]
