Europe 2022 (Part 3): Staying at a Kinderhotel in Croatia

Europe 2022 (Part 3): Staying at a Kinderhotel in Croatia

This is third part of a four part blog post series all about of our trip to Europe this summer! This blog post is about our time staying at a kinderhotel in Rovinj, Croatia! To quickly back up, we flew into Venice, Italy and then drove to the Lake Garda area for a couple days. Next, we drove up to The Dolomites for several days in the mountains. We always love being able to visit new countries and when planning this trip, decided to add Croatia to our trip because it’s not too far from Italy! We actually got to add two new countries to […]

Europe 2022 (Part 2): The Dolomites

Europe 2022 (Part 2): The Dolomites

I can’t recommend this area of the world enough. The Dolomites is a mountain range in the northern Italian Alps! We only scratched the surface of what you can do and see here, but loved our time here! If visiting is on your list, here’s a few places we discovered and loved: ALPE DI SUISI / SEISER ALM Alpe di Siusi was so beautiful! This is the largest high-altitude Alpine meadow in Europe. We took two lift/cableways and spent hours up here — there’s a cute restaurant, tons of trails (including family-friendly options), bike rentals, and picturesque views 🚠🏔🌾 We took the main Suisi lift […]

Europe 2022 (Part 1): Lake Garda, Italy

Europe 2022 (Part 1): Lake Garda, Italy

Hello friends! I’m excited to kick off the first in a four part series sharing more about our two week to Europe! We had such a special trip (with highs and lows, which can be expected) and I’m just really grateful for our time together. First up, our trip to Lake Garda, Italy. Lake Garda is the largest lake in Italy and known for its turquoise waters – it reminded me a lot of Lake Tahoe, actually! When researching and planning the trip, we heard that Lake Garda was a less crowded, family-friendly version of Lake Como. Knowing we wanted to go to the mountains […]

Packing for 2 Weeks in Europe with Carry-ons Only!

Packing for 2 Weeks in Europe with Carry-ons Only!

Earlier this summer, we went on a two week trip to Europe! We opted to travel with carry-ons only, because I’ve heard too many horror stories of lost luggage and also wanted to travel lightly. Our two week trip had four stops (Lake Garda, Italy + The Dolomites + Croatia + Venice, Italy). For the most part, it was hot and typical ‘summer in Europe’ weather, but our time in the mountains was a little cooler, so we did need some layering pieces. Without further ado, here’s a huge brain dump of what we packed for our two-week trip to Europe with two kids! THE […]

Marrakech Travel Guide & Trip Photo Diary

Marrakech Travel Guide & Trip Photo Diary

Today, I’m excited to share all about our recent trip to Marrakech, Morocco! But first, let me back up. I first visited Marrakech nine years ago, on a whim with my coworkers after a conference in Barcelona. I was in my early 20s and remember being so inspired and loving how different it was from life back home (San Francisco at the time). Then, in 2019, we visited as a family (Eric, 18 month old Lucy and Winnie in my belly). I was truly OBSESSED and we had the best time exploring and trying new food and shopping and introducing Lucy to experiences so different […]
