48 Hour Mother Daughter Trip to NYC!

48 Hour Mother Daughter Trip to NYC!

Hi friends! I  am still living on cloud 9 thinking about Lucy and my special ‘just us’ weekend in NYC together! 🥰 We were there for just over 48 hours had THE best time bopping around and spending individual time together. Here’s a day-by-day breakdown of what we did in NYC, some helpful travel logistics (re: carseat, stroller, etc!) and a list of things to do in NYC with preschoolers. Thanks for reading! FRIDAY We arrived to my friend’s house (where we were staying for the weekend) in the Upper West Side around 10:30am. We got situated, freshened up, gave his dog a giant hug, […]

travel adventures: belize

travel adventures: belize

Hi friends! We recently got back from our first international trip in 2+ years (and Winnie’s first ever trip abroad!). After so much time at home and an obviously overwhelming, anxiety-inducing, weird, and hard couple of years, we were eager and so grateful to (safely) explore a new country as a family. 🎉 Today, I want to share a ton of photos from our trip, plus some more info! It feels GOOOOOD to be sharing about travel again! ✈️ ⛱ At the bottom of this post, you can find links to our other Travel Adventures including visiting Portugal, Amsterdam, Paris, Belgium, and Morocco with kid(s). visiting opryland’s soundwaves water park with toddlers

visiting opryland’s soundwaves water park with toddlers

A few weeks ago, we decided to do a one night staycation at the Opryland hotel to visit the Soundwaves water park! I’ve walked around the hotel a few times (mostly to see the holiday lights!) but haven’t stayed there. We’d heard amazing things about their new-ish water park that is connected to the hotel, Soundwaves, and finally decided to give it a try! Soundwaves is a “three level, indoor/outdoor, luxury water attraction” in Nashville — it’s only about 20 minutes from our house so it made for a very easy staycation. I’ll dive into more details and share a lot of photos below! BOOKING […]

flying with two children: tips, tricks, and learnings

flying with two children: tips, tricks, and learnings

A couple weeks ago, I went on my first flight since the pandemic! This was the first time Lucy and I  have been on an airplane since November 2019 (so almost 18 months later!) and Winnie’s first ever flight. Because I  apparently like a good challenge, our first flight during ‘these times’ was just me + the girls. NOT something I  would recommend, but totally doable! A few years ago, I did several flights with Lucy and Jack alone (one of them while 5 months pregnant…) but juggling a young toddler + ‘regular’ toddler + masks was… a lot. I’m actually doing another flight with just me […]

roadtripping with toddlers and infants: tips + tricks

roadtripping with toddlers and infants: tips + tricks

Hi! I’ve had a lot of people reach out asking me for road trip with kids tips, so wanted to share a few things that have worked for us! I’m not an expert, and I think even the most well-traveled, laid-back parents and kids have rough travel days. We absolutely do! That being said, we have done MANY long road trips with Lucy starting at an early age, and recently did a 8 hour road trip with both girls to/from Ohio. We’ve learned a lot from many trips, and try to tweak our adventures accordingly. Before I  dive into specifics on road tripping with kids, […]

traveling with toddlers: long flight tips

traveling with toddlers: long flight tips

Lucy has officially been on 25 flights in her 1.5 years of life! A few months ago, I shared a massive, detailed blog post with detailed flight tips for traveling with babies and toddlers. Since Lucy started walking (around 13 months) the flights she’s taken have been pretty short, minus one roundtrip flight from Nashville to San Francisco. We are gearing up for a couple LONG flights with Lucy in September and October. I’ve been preparing for these flights a little differently than our other trips with Lucy, given how mobile and wiggly she is, and now that she is on one big nap per […]
