flight tips for traveling with babies and young toddlers

Hi friends! I’ve had several people ask me to share my tips and tricks for flying with a baby and I’ve been meaning to write this post for a LONG time. ✈️When Lucy was younger, I shared a lot of tips on my Instagram Story (HERE) but I haven’t shared a lot of tips recently, so here it goes. ✨As a quick backstory: we decided early on that we weren’t going to let having a child stop us from traveling. Does it change the travel experience? ABSOLUTELY. Does it require wayyyy more planning + logistics and way less sleep? TOTALLY. But, I don’t regret any […]

thirty

thirty

Today is my thirtieth birthday! Wow that feels weird to type. 30 feels like a big one. This time last year, I was anxiously awaiting Lucy’s arrival and had just wrapped up a fairly stressful two year contract working at Facebook. The year before that, we spent the day in wine country (and adopted Jack a few days later). The year before THAT, we were in Mexico! In my early 20s, my birthday was spent dressing up and going out with friends for way too many cheap drinks. I still remember celebrating my 21st birthday in college (that feels like another ‘milestone birthday’). How was […]

update: top books for baby

update: top books for baby

Hi friends! How it is already December?! I hope you’ve having a great holiday season so far! Before Lucy was born, I shared a blog post with books for baby and all of the adorable books we were gifted or bought for her. Lucy is now 10 months old and we do *a lot* of reading these days! We keep most of her books in her bedroom (with the cutest ones front and center on the shelves😊) but we have a basket of books on the floor in her room, and a few books in her other baskets scattered throughout the house. I wanted to […]

life update – we’re moving!

life update – we’re moving!

Life update! We are moving to Nashville! Cue: all the emotions! ?? So, a little backstory on the move: I lovelovelovelovelove San Francisco, but didn’t ever think SF would be my forever place. When I first moved, I gave myself two years and told myself I would re-evaluate after that. Nope, two years wasn’t enough (not even close) — some of my very best friends had moved here and I met Eric and tons of other friends-turned-family and the city just felt like home. At that point, I always said that leaving San Francisco (when and if I did) would be the hardest decision I’d […]

second trimester update

Hi friends! I’m now two weeks into the THIRD trimester of my pregnancy (whoa) but wanted to share a quick overview of the second trimester (so weeks 13-27), for those of you interested! I had shared some pregnancy updates in my first baby announcement post, so thought it would be fun to give an update on how things have changed since then! It’s pretty common to hear that the second trimester is the best part of being pregnant (or the “honeymoon period”) because you feel the most normal, as you’re out of the morning sickness often experienced in the first trimester, but often not big enough […]

life update

I have some fun and v big news to share today! We are having a baby! And whew, it feels really good to finalllly share the news publicly (I’m so bad about being secretive). ? Our little BB is coming in January, so he/she will share a birthday month with me! We found out we were pregnant when the baby was about 5 weeks and now we’re at about 16 weeks! At first, and especially during the first few weeks, it felt surreal and didn’t quite sink it that yes, we are having a kid. A few weeks ago, we had an ultrasound where we felt […]
