Purple is for everyday.

Proud to wear purple today! Everyone should check out the article “Purple is for everyday.” because it explains the importance of wearing purple today, but how vital it is to “wear” purple all the time. Check it out! Today, Wednesday, October 20, 2010 marks “Spirit Day” in response and honor to the many students who have recently committed suicide from LGBT bullying. Tyler Clementi was one student who committed suicide after his roommate posted a live-stream video online of Tyler allegedly having sex with another man. Sadly, Tyler is not the only person who had this experience and chose to end his own life because of it. […]

College: To do/to have

My main queen Paige sent me this to me yesterday. She only posted a few that mostly related to our friendship and roommate-ness (I feel like I have the right to make up my own words on my blog?) but I decided to find the full list on The Frisky. I also found a list of “30 things to do while in College” from The Examiner. I wanted to list my favorite 15 from the post, and elaborate via italics and photos on how/why they relate to my college experience so far and to many others’ experiences as well. “What Every College Student Should Have” […]

Missing my girls

I’m blogging cozied up in my bed after an amazing weekend, but keep reminiscing on hilarious, ridiculous, beautiful memories with my sisters. I decided to dedicate this post to Kerry, Katie and Hope; the three people I care about more than absolutely anything. It’s been such a privilege to be their oldest sister and watch them grow into the amazing women they are. My girls are the first to correct me when I’m out of line and the last to judge me when I make a mistake. I wish we could live together at home all the time, but being at school has deepened our […]

Home sweet home.

Happy holiday to you! Labor Day is always a random holiday for me because I have no set traditions or plans, but today ended up being productive and mostly enjoyable. I’m definitely loving the time I could spend with my fabulous roommates and queens this weekend. I moved back to Athens on Thursday and into a new house! I was excited about the extra living space in our huge new home. I had only seen the house briefly twice before moving in and my mom and I were both equally annoyed annoyed and shocked at how dirty it was! Ugh. Over the weekend, we’ve transformed […]

Headband Crave

After reading one of my favorite posts about headbands from FSU Fashion Girl (thanks Chandra!), I knew it was time for me to blog about my absolute favorite go-to item. I wear headbands almost daily (not including the obvious boring headband wraps for working out, washing face, etc.)  I feel like headbands can make a statement about how I’m feeling that day, punch up an outfit a bit more and are always the perfect fix for the inevitable bad hair day. The increasing popularity of Gossip Girl has fed into the headband-crave and Blair Waldorf’s ever present headband have inspired designers and excited girls of all […]

Meal Routines

Some people, like my sister Hope, crave steak for dinner, followed by ice cream and brownies for dessert. Some people enjoy salads as a “pre-meal” or only eat salad on “fat days” when they feel forced to eat healthy. I am quite the opposite. Salads are a staple in my “diet” and I am constantly excited try new ones, enjoy constant favorites (like the fourth one pictured from Atrias in Pittsburgh) and make them on my own. As much as I love them, it sometimes can get boring and bland, so I have to mix-it-up and experiment! Part of my summer routine includes making a […]
