2015 recap

2015 has been QUITE the year. it’s been one of the most joyful, jam-packed, celebration-filled, whirlwind years of my life. so many exciting things have happened, both big and small, and it’s been a year of change, growth and celebration. obviously, the biggest life milestone was getting married to E! the year was very wedding-related with lots of planning and organizing for our own and lots of celebrating for our own and other people’s weddings. i also made a big job change, which was necessary and a very good step in the right direction for my overall happiness and wellbeing. as much as i love san francisco, i […]

why i quit my job

why i quit my job

earlier this week, i shared a blog post about what really matters to me – relationships, authenticity, adventure/travel, being my best self – and how i wanted to stop being consumed about things that aren’t so important or life-giving. i wrote that, “every day only has so many hours and by spending time investing in things that don’t matter, jobs that aren’t satisfying, relationships that aren’t loving and nurturing, means that we are really missing out on what matters.” i initially wrote this blog post a few weeks ago and scheduled to share it this monday. little did i know that i couldn’t have scheduled it go to […]

ending childhood hunger // no kid hungry

ending childhood hunger // no kid hungry

did you know one in five children in the united states struggles with hunger, including more than 27% of kids in california? i hate that statistic. i can’t even begin to imagine what that would be like and it saddens me that it’s reality to people, especially children, all around us. no kid hungry is a campaign ending hunger by ensuring children get the healthy food they need. they do this by connecting kids to nutrition programs {school breakfasts + summer meals} and by teaching families how to cook healthy, affordable food at home. i love cooking and spent a lot of time in the kitchen with […]

for my roommates

for my roommates

today i want to talk about roommates. for the first time since high school, i won’t have roommates later this year.  i’ll be starting a new home with E which i’m totally excited about, but thinking about roommates recently has made me feel really sappy and emotional and thankful all at once. i remember driving down to ohio university as a wide-eyed 18-year-old ready for her freshman year of college. i had never met paige, who was my random roommate in the dorm, but we were texting the entire trip to school. fast forward eight {!!} years, and paige is one of my very best friends – […]

on possibility and 2014

on possibility and 2014

“Write this down: My life is full of unlimited possibilities.” – Pablo I’ve shared previously that my word for 2014 was possibility. I wanted to pick one word that would mark my year; that I could embrace and focus on all 365 days of 2014. I chose possibility because I wanted the year to be a time where I was open whatever was to come. I wanted to be open to potential and to be hopeful for whatever was next. The way this came to life this year has been really interesting and really awesome. It’s been a big year, an eventful one to say the […]
