upstairs bathroom reveal

upstairs bathroom reveal

I’m so excited to share photos of our upstairs bathroom! A little backstory on this overall project and upstairs renovation: we bought our house in fall 2018 and were quickly captivated by the 100-year-old house’s location and charm. The house had a lot of quirks and needed some love, but no major renovations or construction projects were required. The upstairs was two rooms, both with awkward layouts and poorly constructed closets. The upstairs also had a bit of an attic vibe – there were sloped ceilings on both sides and dormer windows on either end of the space (one of which was covered by a […]

IKEA play kitchen hack + favorite pretend kitchen accessories

IKEA play kitchen hack + favorite pretend kitchen accessories

Hi friends! I’ve been meaning to share this post for awhile, but finally doing it….one year later! My parents hacked together the IKEA play kitchen for Lucy’s birthday and I wanted to share more about Lucy’s kitchen and our favorite pretend kitchen accessories. This is *not* a DIY/how-to post on how to hack the IKEA kitchen. There are tons of those online and here’s a great roundup of IKEA kitchen hacks, too! To start, my parents bought the IKEA play kitchen which is just under $90. It’s pretty simple and minimal as is, making it a perfect blank space for creativity and making the kitchen […]

narrow hallway storage solution (ikea billy review)

narrow hallway storage solution (ikea billy review)

One of the challenging parts of having an old house is often a lack of closets or storage solutions. Our house was built in 1919, and has minimal closets. Our bedroom has a small one that was sloppily added on fairly recently, and Lucy’s room has a similar sized closet. We do have some storage upstairs, which is where we keep a lot of our bulkier items like suitcases, bins of baby clothes, etc. On the main floor, we have no hallway closets, no bathroom closets, no coat closets, no mud room, etc. Sooooo it’s required a bit of creative thinking to figure out how […]

lucy’s bedroom tour

hello friends! we recently did a home tour over on A Beautiful Mess blog (check it out HERE!✨) and I wanted to share some room-specific posts here on my own blog, too! today, i’m sharing photos of Lucy’s room! her room is in the back of our house, facing the backyard and gets the prettiest afternoon light. a lot of the items in her room you might recognize from her closet nursery in our san francisco apartment, but we’ve added a few new items to fill the space and make the room feel finished and ‘just right.’ I love that her room truly feels like […]

bedroom updates with wayfair

bedroom updates with wayfair

This post is sponsored by Wayfair, a brand I love and have been partnering with for years! We’ve been in our home for almost 10 months now, and we’re slowly but surely making more and more updates (some big, some small) to our space! I recently made some small but mighty changes to our bedroom, thanks to Wayfair. I’ve shared photos of our bedroom on Instagram before (here + here); candidly, we haven’t spent a lot of time or energy decorating this room as we have other rooms. Right when we moved in, we bought a West Elm dresser from CraigsList, hung two wall […]

This post is sponsored by The Home Depot. All thoughts and opinions are, of course, my own. As new homeowners, we have made many, many, MANY trips to our local Home Depot in the last ten months. Basically, it seems like we are there every weekend! 😅I recently discovered that The Home Depot has a huge selection of home decor products – wall art, faux plants, textiles, candles and diffusers, stylish hardware, and more. I’m excited to share more photos from our home (#aenashnest) with you – our two bathrooms that I recently refreshed with decor and hardware updates from The Home Depot!  🛀🏻One bathroom […]
