At Home: Pop of Color with Wayfair

At Home: Pop of Color with Wayfair

our current apartment is a work in progress. there are so many things i LOVE about it on its own: the bay windows in each room beaming light in every morning, the wood floors, the two walk-in closets, the kitchen. and there’s things i love that we’ve recently purchased or put together in this new apartment stage of life: first and foremost, a table, because we love having people over for dinner, drinks, anything. i also love our bright pink rug runner {also to be used at our wedding}, the moroccan pillows in the bedroom, our new chaise and couch, the picture frames on the wall, […]

narrow hallway storage solution (ikea billy review)

narrow hallway storage solution (ikea billy review)

One of the challenging parts of having an old house is often a lack of closets or storage solutions. Our house was built in 1919, and has minimal closets. Our bedroom has a small one that was sloppily added on fairly recently, and Lucy’s room has a similar sized closet. We do have some storage upstairs, which is where we keep a lot of our bulkier items like suitcases, bins of baby clothes, etc. On the main floor, we have no hallway closets, no bathroom closets, no coat closets, no mud room, etc. Sooooo it’s required a bit of creative thinking to figure out how […]

lucy’s bedroom tour

lucy’s bedroom tour

hello friends! we recently did a home tour over on A Beautiful Mess blog (check it out HERE!✨) and I wanted to share some room-specific posts here on my own blog, too! today, i’m sharing photos of Lucy’s room! her room is in the back of our house, facing the backyard and gets the prettiest afternoon light. a lot of the items in her room you might recognize from her closet nursery in our san francisco apartment, but we’ve added a few new items to fill the space and make the room feel finished and ‘just right.’ I love that her room truly feels like […]

patio reveal

this post is sponsored by wayfair. hi there! today, i’m super excited to share some photos from our back patio area! by now, you know I LOVE Wayfair and shop for sooo many home items from their site…rugs, chairs, our bed, our guest bed, plant stands, chandelier…the list goes on and on. they asked me to share how I refreshed an outdoor space, and I thought it was the perfect time to share our patio on my blog. a little backstory – earlier this spring, we worked with a local contractor to add a deck onto the back of our house and honestly, it’s been […]

beautiful utility: rug update in our kitchen

Hello friends! I’ve shared photos of my apartment on my blog before and often on Instagram (#aesfnest), but one room I don’t share a ton of photos of is our kitchen. The main apartment areas, our bedroom and living room, get really nice natural light and are fairly spacious, but our kitchen is…small. Tight, slightly crammed, poor lighting. Oh, and rental life means we, of course, didn’t get our choice in finishes and appliances (seriously, our stove and porch are miniature and way too small for tall people like E ?). Wayfair recently challenged me to add some beauty to a “utility” space in my home […]

bar cart styling tips

A few years ago, a friend gifted us with a rectangular gold bar cart and since, I’ve been obsessed with decorating the bar cart in different ways and moving it around in different areas of our apartment. Today, I wanted to show you the newest bar cart in our little nest and share a few bar car styling tips. Recently, I received this cylinder gold bar cart from wayfair and I’m now having fun with the new decor challenge of styling this one in a different way. I moved the rectangular one into our kitchen, but might integrate into the bedroom in some way. For […]
