bar cart styling tips

A few years ago, a friend gifted us with a rectangular gold bar cart and since, I’ve been obsessed with decorating the bar cart in different ways and moving it around in different areas of our apartment. Today, I wanted to show you the newest bar cart in our little nest and share a few bar car styling tips. Recently, I received this cylinder gold bar cart from wayfair and I’m now having fun with the new decor challenge of styling this one in a different way. I moved the rectangular one into our kitchen, but might integrate into the bedroom in some way. For […]

#aesfnest: living room!

hi friends! recently, our teeny tiny apartment was featured on the everygirl, one of my favorite lifestyle websites. my amazing friend tory shot all the photos and the feature included photos of the apartment and an interview about career, relationship, home decor and general life stuff. since not all of the photos made the final feature, i wanted to share a few more shots of our apartment on my blog. today, i’m sharing photos from our living room! on IG, i always tag photos of our apartment with #aesfnest if you want to see more photos! our living room is accessed both by the hallway from […]

Tropical with Wayfair

Hi friends! Is anyone else constantly in a state of thinking-about-vacation mode? It’s been so cold and gray in San Francisco lately and I’m craving a beach vacation – warm weather, palm trees and sand and turquoise-y blue water, fruity cocktails, no to-do lists or calendar invites. Hawaii is on my list and I’m always down to go back to Mexico or the Caribbean. Sigh. I’ve tried to bring in some tropical and vacation-y vibes into our apartment like recently moving Eric’s teal surfboard into the living room, hanging palm tree and ocean prints in both our bedroom and the hallway and displaying ALL OF […]

tips for organizing your bookshelves

You may have noticed on Instagram that we recently put up new bookshelves in our living room! Our friends gave us these West Elm brackets and we had two slats of wood that Eric had previously sanded and stained, so we put it all together and voilà! Hello new bookshelves and goodbye, black, bulky IKEA bookshelf! While I am definitely not a designer or home decor expert, I wanted to share a few simple tips for organizing your bookshelves, plus share a few photos of our current and older versions of my bookshelves. I’d love to know if you have any special bookshelf organizing tips or […]

bathroom refresh with wayfair & giveaway!

thank you wayfair for partnering with me on this post & giveaway! i’ve said this before, but our apartment is a constant work in progress. i’m always looking to tweak, improve and re-energize the space with just the right additions, whether it’s updated pillows for the chaise or couch, swapping out photos in frames or finding a perfect new plant. there’s one space that often doesn’t get as many fancy tweaks and seasonal updates compared to the rest of the apartment: our bathroom. if you’ve been to our apartment, you understand why the bathroom isn’t a big focus in terms of decorating or updating because literally […]

#luckyblooms

i think most girls love flowers, but i would say i’m particularly obsessed. the flower market is my happy place and just seeing blooms – whether at a shop, on the street, in my apartment in vase, brightens my day. i’ve started tagging my flower pics on instagram with #luckyblooms because i love being able to go back and scroll through that hashtag and see all the bright, colorful beauty. today, i wanted to share some pics of a spot i always used to keep flowers in my old bedroom. i had a wicker truck that i used as a nightstand in between my bed and bookshelf and […]
