swaddle storage solution + our favorite swaddles

swaddle storage solution + our favorite swaddles

As you likely know, we live in a pretty tiny apartment and converted E’s walk-in closet into a nursery! I’m always looking for ways to be smart and strategic with our space, and today, I wanted to share my one creative and inexpensive solution for storing baby blankets and swaddles. I purchased an over-the-door hanging shoe organizer ($8) and hung it on the door in between Lucy’s closet-turned-nursery and the kitchen. We store all of Lucy’s swaddles and lightweight blankets here! Not only is this an inexpensive solution, but it’s also super convenient to find and easily grab a swaddle/blanket when we need. Our swaddle […]

how to support new parents

how to support new parents

my blog has definitely taken a backseat lately with Lucy here, and all the other life things going on. that being said, this post has been on my mind for awhile and I’m excited to finally share! today, I want to share some ways you/anyone can support and help new parents. before having Lucy, I didn’t know a ton of people with kids, so didn’t have a lot of  hands-on experience helping new parents. here’s some of the amazing, helpful and supportive things people did for US after Lucy was born! some were “big things” and some were small, but still significant things. some were […]

lucy’s birth story

lucy’s birth story

NAME: Lucy Grey Burdullis DATE + TIME: Thursday, January 25 at 10:28am SIZE: 6 lbs 11oz, 18 in long It’s surreal for me to think that just over a week ago we were welcoming baby Lucy to the world! The entire birthing experience feels like a whirlwind, with some parts super vivid and others blending together, all at once. Like other life updates, I wanted to document and share Lucy’s birth story here. I’ve enjoyed reading other people’s birth stories (they often make me cry!) so taking time to reflect and write out our own little (but very long) story feels important and special to […]

books for baby

books for baby

Another baby post! ? I will likely share more photos of baby’s room/nursery/closet after she arrives, but in the meantime, wanted to share a sneak peek at a little area within her room – her bookshelf! Both E and I looooove to read so it was a no brainer that we wanted to have lots of books for baby. I added quite a few to our baby registry and we received a few favorites that way, but other people have sent us so many other good ones! Her bookshelf is already full so we’re now trying to figure out where to put the rest […]

third trimester update

third trimester update

Two blog posts in one week?! Who am I? This is what happens when I’ve ramped down most of my client work and have much more free time before #littlebabyburd‘s arrival! Today I wanted to share a quick third trimester update on how things have been going during the home stretch of my pregnancy. I shared a second trimester update here and a first trimester update / baby announcement here.  So today’s post covers approximately weeks 28-38 (today!). Here’s some highlights from the past few weeks as well as random info like how I’m feeling physically/emotionally, how we’re prepping for baby, what I’m reading, etc.! THIRD […]

maternity style

maternity style

The countdown is on – just a few weeks until Bebe Burd is here! I’ve had a few people ask me questions about maternity clothes and what I’ve been wearing throughout my pregnancy, so wanted to share today! Pretty much I’ve been wearing the same 15-20 items throughout my entire pregnancy. It’s been an unintentional capsule wardrobe of sorts! I’ve found that this has worked for me, because I work from home and don’t have to get “fully dressed” every day. Leggings and comfy clothes like t-shirts and tank tops were my best friends. ? I also have been rotating through the same few items because […]
