never stop creating

Do you ever feel uninspired and uncreative? I hate that feeling! Earlier this week I read an article about overcoming creative blocks and thought that would be an appropriate Words for Wednesday topic. One of my absolute favorite things is being surrounded by people who are full of big and crazy ideas – whether for work projects, personal tasks or life goals. A few ways I stay inspired and creative are by: singing really loud, listening to music, studying and appreciating art, listening to people who are wiser than I am, doodling, taking afternoon walks around the block, reading one chapter of a book daily, saying […]

how to live well

We made it to Wednesday! That means the weekend countdown starts…now. I’m always on the lookout for inspiration, advice and ideas on how to live my life in the absolute best way possible. It’s a simple thing, really. I’m interested to find out what it means to live well – and then actively do just that. Here’s a few favorite quotes and bits of advice that piece together what it means for me to live a full, happy and wonderful life – to live well. Loving well, stepping over hurt, laying aside self and desires, draws on more of our interior resources than investing in […]

how to show love

I love love. There’s nothing quite like spending time with someone who loves you unconditionally – no ifs, ands or buts about it. I shared a post back in February about love and recently re-read what I wrote today. Here’s what “six months ago me” posted: People often view solely love as a feeling they have for their significant other or their family or their friends. While this type of love is important and vital, I also think it’s important to look at love from a larger scale. We are called to love e-v-e-r-y-o-n-e. That’s right, the bus driver. Your coworkers. Your neighbors. That person from high school […]

Nothing keeps the past away like the future!

Helllllllo first day of August! Happy Wednesday and first day of this fantastic month. I really enjoy the quote below: “Nothing keeps the past away like the future!” Sadly, I’ve spent way too much time replaying bad experiences and beating myself up over the past. Take it from me sister, it’s not pretty. Why is it that we are so easy to be hard on ourselves? One piece of advice that is my favorite is this: “Stop repeating the past and start creating the future.” What’s done is done. I’ve learned to accept what has happened in my past, forgive myself and others and move forward. […]

when you stop doing things for fun, you might as well be dead.

If you’re anything like me, it can be easy to feel boggled down by responsibilities, tasks, to-do lists and challenges. It’s also equally easy to find yourself overanalyzing and stressing yourself out over what may or may not happen in the future. As a young adult, I’ve been taught and trained that “adulthood” means managing responsibilities and checking things off my to-do list. My initial perception of adulthood was that you go to work, go to the gym, make dinner, go to bed. Enough is enough! I’m not discounting that it’s important to honor responsibilities and obligations, I’m focusing on infusing a whole lot more […]

Advice I Love

Good morning sunshines! Hope you’re having a fantastic start to the week. Part of me is thinking, “It’s already Wednesday?!?!” while the other half of me is asking “HOW is it only Wednesday?!” Weird how that works, huh? Anyway, I’ve been lucky enough to receive some awesome advice over the years and usually at the exact moment I need to hear it. Today’s Words for Wednesday shares just a few of my favorite pieces of advice. I think my favorite is: “do to others as you would have them do to you.” Such a good reminder when thinking about how to treat the people you […]
