let me just put this out there: I LOVE CHEESE. i could have cheese plates for dinner every single night. i love putting together perfect cheese plates – a variety of cheeses, nuts, dried or fresh fruit, olives, spreads and of course, bread and crackers.
when we were planning our SF wedding reception, we wanted it to feel very us and we decided rather than cater something, we would make epic cheese plates. here’s what we served!
cheese: we had six different types of cheeses, hard and soft, creamy and nutty.
olives
nuts: walnuts, almonds and {my favorite} marcona almonds with rosemary
fresh and dried fruit: fresh raspberries, dried apricots, figs and cranberries
a variety of meats
spreads: fig jam, honey, pumpkin jam, hummus
carbs: two types of bread, two types of crackers, pita chips
we used a variety of cheese plates and small dishes and arranged a giant table of cheese plate magic, topped with pretty greenery around the different plates. the best part about making cheese plates is that ANYTHING GOES! literally, there’s no wrong way to make a cheese plate – simply choose items you like and arrange them together. major yum!
