Hi everyone! If you know me personally, you likely know I never turn down a good juice date. I also love to make my own juices/smoothies at home and have done my good share of juice cleanses over the past few years {HERE & HERE & HERE}. While I’d love to make a green juice daily, my schedule just doesn’t allow it every day. My favorite juice shop in the city, Project Juice, generously offered to let me try a few of their juices and I’m sharing about the experience today!
First of all, if you live in SF or have visited, you’ve likely seen or visited Project Juice. They have juices at some awesome cafes in the city, including The Station and Jane. They also have their own freestanding locations – in Russian Hill, in FiDi {inside Crocker Galleria}, in the Mission {with a smoothie bar – I’m obsessed} and Mid-Market inside of The Market. I’m THRILLED that they are opening a new location in Hayes Valley, a ‘hood super close to my apartment and one I frequently visit.
While I’ve toyed around with the idea of doing a juice cleanse before our wedding {3 more weeks!}, I decided against it. There’s too much champagne to drink in excitement! #HalfKidding. I didn’t want to take five full days to just have juice, but I did want to incorporate more juice into my diet. It’s also not super healthy to not eat, only have juice and work out. So, I decided to just swap juice in for my breakfast or lunch a couple of days instead!
Here’s the juices I tried, what was in each one and what I thought of the juice! You can click on each image to make it bigger too. If you have any questions about juicing or want to grab a juice in person, let me know 😉 Also, make sure to follow @ProjectJuice on Instagram for colorful, healthy inspiration!
I love how colorful this pack of juices was! While I could have gotten all green juices, I opted to mix it up and try some new juices offered by Project Juice.
Beta Bomb (Orange, Carrot, Pineapple, Ginger, Lime, Turmeric, Cinnamon)
So much yum. Typically, beet juice is recommended if you’re really looking to clean your system and detox. I’m not a beet girl, so opted for this juice instead – with an tasty kick from the turmeric and cinnamon.
Watermelon Berry (Watermelon, Strawberry, Young Coconut Water, Green Apple, Lime)
I want to drink this every single day of the summer. So light and tasty and an awesome swap for my afternoon coffee. Would be yummy mixed with a cocktail too!
Green Lemon (Kale, Romaine, Spinach, Celery, Cucumber, Green Apple, Lemon)
Super drinkable green juice packed with more than 3 pounds of veggies in one bottle! Obviously some green juices are harder to drink than others, but this one with the apple and lemon was not one of those!
Black Magic (Pure Filtered Water, Lemon, Raw Agave, Cayenne, Activated Coconut Charcoal)
I was a little nervous about this drink but ended up LOVING it. E & I split this one evening and I was upset that I was nice enough to share with him! It’s also a great cleansing juice that helps suppress your appetite.
Liver Flush Wellness Shot (Grapefruit, Beet, Aloe Vera, Milk Thistle, Burdock Root, and Cayenne)
Shots, shots, shots! This 2 oz shot of goodness is a perfect hangover cure and all-around detox in one swift chug. The grapefruit packs in Vitamin C and the aloe brings balance to the digestive system and
Juices I tried that aren’t pictured:
Doctor Green (Cucumber, Celery, Kale, Spinach, Romaine) – this juice is no joke! There’s no fruit, so it’s definitely not one for those new to green juice, but very much a great one.
Cashew Mylk (Cashew, Pure Filtered Water, Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Vanilla, Raw Agave.) – this is truly divine! A perfect dessert, but I opted to mix it throughout the day in my coffee and then finish the rest off solo. So rich and creamy and tasty!
