4 Kid-Friendly Maine Beaches We Visited & Loved

We recently got back from our trip to New England! One of the highlights of the trip was exploring so many wonderful Maine beaches! We hadn’t been to Maine before and wow — it is just so beautiful and special! Today, I want to share four kid-friendly beaches in Maine that we loved!

OGUNQUIT BEACH

This beach was in walking distance to downtown Ogunquit (a super quaint and cute town!). It was a large beach with public restrooms and changing areas and a few restaurants and chair/umbrella rental areas nearby. This was the first beach we went to in Maine and it was a little chillier this morning, but we still had a blast! The photos below from the rocky path are from nearby Marginal Way — which was a lovely area we explored before hitting the beach!

MOTHER’S BEACH (KENNEBUNK)

This beach had a HUGE playground ON the beach — need I say more? The girls LOVED it! There were many playground structures and swings, right next to a huge sandy beach. The girls also liked this beach because there were big rocks we could climb (and pretend to play ‘Lion King’ lol). There is (paid) street parking nearby, but only Port-a-Potties available at least right next to the playground.

CRESCENT BEACH

This was my absolute favorite beach! It was in Crescent Beach State Park, so we paid for park entrance (per person) and it was well worth it. We brought breakfast and coffee with us and enjoyed this gorgeous, serene beach. The highlight was walking all the way over to the rocky area to a walking path with all types of wildflowers, overlooking the ocean. It was so special! There were large changing rooms and restrooms available, as well as picnic areas.

YORK BEACH

This was the last beach we visited before leaving Maine for Boston. It was (no surprise) beautiful and very relaxing. There was street parking available, and changing rooms and restrooms. It was a very long stretch of beach and we personally had tons of room to ourselves to relax and watch the girls dance and play!
