Reflections: Ending My Breastfeeding Journey with Winnie

Reflections: Ending My Breastfeeding Journey with Winnie

This was originally shared on Instagram in March, but wanted to re-share it here, too. I took this photo several weeks ago, knowing that one of these times nursing would be one of the last times. Not sure when exactly and not having a set “stop date”, but having this sense we’d be wrapping up soon. You never really know or feel the depth of something being the last time until it’s already passed. But now I know: my 15 month chapter of nursing Winnie has come to an end. And it’s bittersweet, but also I’m very okay about it because I know she was […]

living room refresh with wayfair

living room refresh with wayfair

This blog post is sponsored by Wayfair I’m always redecorating and tweaking different corners of our home. Not because I don’t like the way it looks or because it isn’t functioning well, but because switching things out and moving things around gives a new life to a room and feels really refreshing. I ordered these chairs from Wayfair originally for our family room (the one with the statement green accent wall) and while they worked okay, I  didn’t love it. So on a whim, I decided to move them into our front living room and I’m really loving how they look (and function!) in here. […]

travel adventures: california trip (august 2021)

travel adventures: california trip (august 2021)

At the beginning of August, we flew to California for a kid-free vacation! We flew to LA and dropped the girls (and Jack) off at Eric’s parents house, and we drove up the coast visiting our favorite spots. After living in California for eight years, the state is very near and dear to my heart — there is REALLY nothing like California. We had SO much fun visiting our old stomping grounds, taking a break as “mom and dad”, and seeing some of our closest friends. I’m going to do a quick photo recap of our trip for you today! Carmel Valley We drove up […]

reflections: when the news feels scary

reflections: when the news feels scary

The news feels scary and sad and the weight of the world is heavy — wars and natural disasters and tragedy and sickness and loss and so much bad news. Everyone seems to be arguing and debating and taking sides and it sort of feels like walking on eggshells because you’ll make someone upset by what you do or say but also what you *don’t* do or say. When I feel overwhelmed by it all and that my anxiety might crush me, I try to take a step back and look around. I look around at my daughters — dancing and blowing bubbles and giggling […]

50+ vegetarian toddler lunchbox ideas

Lucy and Winnie started school last week! We are a vegetarian (sometimes pescetarian) household so all lunches we pack the girls have no meat. Before the school year even started, I  found myself in a bit of a rut packing the same ol’ thing every day for lunch at summer camp and our nanny share. I asked you guys on Instagram for some vegetarian lunch ideas and got SOOO many good ideas and tips! Below, you can find all of the ideas compiled by type, plus a quick list of other accounts / resources when it comes to toddler food. Hope this helps! 🎒 MAINS […]

Kids Clothes + Accessories We’ve Bought from Amazon

Kids Clothes + Accessories We’ve Bought from Amazon

I often get asked about where I buy the girls clothing, so wanted to compile a few kids clothes and accessories we own! For this first post, I wanted to share a few kids clothes and accessories on Amazon we own. I  definitely have my fair share of Amazon fails/returns, but all of the items in this post are ones I’m super happy with — many of them have lasted for years (since Lucy was Winnie’s age) or I’ve reordered many times (like those amazing pjs!). Stay tuned for another post about other brands I  shop from for the girls’ clothes! 🛍 CLOTHES Ruffle Crop […]
