IKEA play kitchen hack + favorite pretend kitchen accessories

IKEA play kitchen hack + favorite pretend kitchen accessories

Hi friends! I’ve been meaning to share this post for awhile, but finally doing it….one year later! My parents hacked together the IKEA play kitchen for Lucy’s birthday and I wanted to share more about Lucy’s kitchen and our favorite pretend kitchen accessories. This is *not* a DIY/how-to post on how to hack the IKEA kitchen. There are tons of those online and here’s a great roundup of IKEA kitchen hacks, too! To start, my parents bought the IKEA play kitchen which is just under $90. It’s pretty simple and minimal as is, making it a perfect blank space for creativity and making the kitchen […]

I GRADUATED!

I GRADUATED!

Masters program – done! 🎓✔️I wrote discussion posts, worked on research papers, created presentations, read a lot of textbooks, took quizzes, and collaborated on group projects pretty much everywhere and all the time over the past 20ish months. From coffee shops and the YMCA lobby to doctors offices and airplanes. In between breastfeeding sessions and diaper changes and rocking Lucy to sleep. In the mornings, during nap times, while Lucy went to school, at night after she went to sleep. During family vacations to the beach and on work trips in hotel rooms and while overlooking the Portugal coast. I applied to my program at […]

plant care tips & tricks

plant care tips & tricks

This post has been something I’ve been wanting to share for a long time! I’ve always gotten a lot of questions about our plants, especially since Eric built our backyard greenhouse. We had a ton of plants stuffed into our tiny San Francisco apartment and have always had quite a lot of plants inside our home in Nashville too. Now that the greenhouse plants are inside for the winter, we have 85+ plants inside! I  can’t take any credit for the plants. Eric has the true green thumb and is super deep in the plant game. He spends hours each week watering and caring for […]

narrow hallway storage solution (ikea billy review)

narrow hallway storage solution (ikea billy review)

One of the challenging parts of having an old house is often a lack of closets or storage solutions. Our house was built in 1919, and has minimal closets. Our bedroom has a small one that was sloppily added on fairly recently, and Lucy’s room has a similar sized closet. We do have some storage upstairs, which is where we keep a lot of our bulkier items like suitcases, bins of baby clothes, etc. On the main floor, we have no hallway closets, no bathroom closets, no coat closets, no mud room, etc. Sooooo it’s required a bit of creative thinking to figure out how […]

travel adventures: algarve coast, portugal

travel adventures: algarve coast, portugal

After we visited Morocco, we flew to Lisbon, Portugal and picked up our rental car. We drove immediately from the airport to the Algarve Coast of Portugal. For this part of our trip, we planned to stay in two different areas along the coast, about an hour apart from each other. The Algarve coast was truly so magical and reminded me SO much of Northern California. So many times, E and I would just say – isn’t this just like Big Sur or Mendocino? When we travel, we typically stay in airbnbs, but for this trip, we decided to stay at resorts. We thought that […]

Introducing My NEW Textile Collection!

Introducing My NEW Textile Collection!

I have some exciting news! 🎉 I’ve always loved collecting textiles from my travels, and my recent trip to Morocco was no exception. After wandering the souk in Marrakesh and picking out items for our own home, I had the idea to curate and share my love of textiles with others. So, I decided to launch a little creative project – a textile collection, selling one-of-a-kind, Moroccan wool pillows that have been hand-picked by me. All of the pillows are sold at luckycollective.com/shop. Here’s a bunch of information about the pillows and my shop! I’ve always loved having unique, one-of-a-kind items in our home, and […]
