travel adventures: ICELAND!

travel adventures: ICELAND!

My husband recently quit his job (after 8.5 years!) and wanted to travel! And…we pretty spontaneously booked a kid-free trip to Iceland! We’ve heard wonderful things about Iceland from friends (and strangers) but never made it a priority to go. While I know tons of people go to Iceland with kids and love it, it hasn’t been on the top of our family travel bucket list. So this felt like the perfect kid-free destination for us! Now that we’re on the other side of the trip, we’d definitely love to come back with the girls when they are a little older. Anyway, here’s a huge […]

Favorite Waterfalls in South Iceland

Favorite Waterfalls in South Iceland

Seljalandsfoss I feel like I’ll remember our time at Seljalandsfoss forever. We visited right around sunset and I was just amazed at the beauty of this special canyon (including the nearby Glujrabui). The light was perfect and we even saw a rainbow coming out in front of the waterfall – just magic! 🌈 This is a very popular spot and we saw lots of big vans + buses of people, but it seemed to be less busy the later it got in the day. We were bummed we couldn’t hike behind the waterfall (sometimes possible at Seljalandsfoss) but still loved getting to see this waterfall! […]

Planning a Safari Party: The Food

Planning a Safari Party: The Food

I  had so much fun planning Lucy’s 5th birthday party and wanted to share some deeper dive blog posts about different elements of the party. Today, I’m sharing all about the food! You can find more about the party theme/decor HERE and party activities HERE. SAFARI PARTY FOOD My mom and mother-in-law handled all the food for the party and it was great! My mother-in-law blew it out of the park with these creative platters! She created a delicious berry tray with a watermelon elephant, and also lion-shaped veggie and hummus tray. They were SO festive and adorable! My mom also made an animal cracker […]

5 Stunning Beaches in Turks and Caicos

5 Stunning Beaches in Turks and Caicos

1. TAYLOR BAY Ohhh this was SUCH a special spot! This small and quiet beach is on the southern, quieter part of the island (about a 20 min drive from Grace Bay). It’s the PERFECT for families with small kids as the water is super shallow and clear. So clear that we played with pool rings and could easily find them in the water/sand – crazy! The girls could walk so far out into the water and still be waist deep. More about Taylor Bay HERE. 2. LITTLE WATER CAY (IGUANA IGLAND) This was such a cool stop! The only way you can get to […]

Planning a Safari Party: Kids Activities!

I  had so much fun planning Lucy’s 5th birthday party and wanted to share some deeper dive blog posts about different elements of the party. Today, I’m sharing all about the party activities! You can find more about the party food HERE and party decor HERE. ACTIVITIES ACTIVITY #1: Grab party ears! Right when you walk in, kids and grown ups could grab animal party ears! I ordered a couple sets of these Jungle/Safari Animal Headbands and hung them on the wall with clear Command hooks. The headband pack came with 12 options — I loved that there were so many animal ears people could […]

4 Kids Beach Essentials from Amazon

4 Kids Beach Essentials from Amazon

We recently went on a family vacation to Turks and Caicos and I wanted to share a few items I  ordered for the girls for the beach! Hooded Towel Poncho The girls used these multiple times every single day of our vacation. These hooded towel ponchos were PERFECT for the beach and pool. It was so much easier than packing extra clothes and towels. They just wore there to/from the beach and pool. They dry quickly and are super thick and plush. We’ll use them for swim lessons too! FYI Lucy is newly 5 and has the 4-6 size, and Winnie is newly 3 and […]
