Q&A with The Nudge Blog

AndiTeggart

Happy Monday! I spent the weekend in Seattle visiting two of my favorite people and reuniting with E after his trip to Asia. I was honored {and excited!} to be asked to be featured on The Nudge blog recently. The Nudge Blog for twenty-something women that provides inspiration, motivation an real-life stories to give girls the ‘nudge’ they need to create a better life for themselves. Their mission is right up my alley and I love the stuff they share! I did a Q&A with The Nudge founder, Brenna and shared about creativity, inspiration, my blog/Instagram and more. Here’s a few of the questions and answers, but definitely check out the full feature here!

Q: What (or who) inspires you?
A: Mostly people! I’m inspired by my mom, who went back to grad school with four kids at home and now has her own counseling business. I’m inspired by so many of my girlfriends with eclectic interests and entrepreneurial endeavors. It’s awesome to be around them! I’m also inspired by our beautiful world and simple things that are often overlooked: flowers, productive conversations over coffee, cotton candy sunsets.

Q: What helps you relieve stress when work and life gets overwhelming?
A: Great question! At work when I feel stressed or overwhelmed, I try to take a walk outside even for a few minutes. It’s a great way to clear my head and just reset. I also like to journal every night, but especially during stressful life moments. Journaling is an amazing way to write out the jumbled things in your head and work them out on paper. And I love being able to go back and re-read the journals days, months and even years later to see how things have changed or how prayers have been answered. And also, never underestimate the power of a few deep breaths.

Q: We are constantly swooning over your gorgeous Instagram photos. What’s a good piece of advice for making the most out of an Insta post?
A: Thanks again! I’m in no way, shape or form a professional but I do gravitate towards pretty things. I think my best piece of advice is to take your time – don’t rush a photo. Position objects carefully, center the frame, think about lighting and shadows. I often take like 10 photos of the same thing just to make sure I have one photo that I love!

Q: What is your favorite piece of advice?
A: Bravery and courage is always rewarded. When I first moved to San Francisco, a now-good friend gave me this advice and it’s so important, especially for those of you in a new phase of life. Life can be really scary and overwhelming and filled with what ifs, but life is good. It’s important to be brave with your life and make courageous choices – whether that’s moving across the country, quitting your job for something that you’re passionate about, saying yes to a first date. I’ve seen time and time again how making brave choices is rewarded and so much goodness comes out of it.
