sf adventures: date night in north beach

EDEN & EDEN in San Francisco

on sunday, E & I decided we wanted to explore an area of town that we don’t frequently visit. we tend to stick to the same 5-6 neighborhoods, but there are so many great spots in the city that we haven’t been to yet! we ended up visiting the northeast corner of the city, the jackson square and north beach neighborhoods. we bopped into some shops, grabbed drinks at a few new places we’ve never been to before {but heard great things about} and ended the night with a super tasty dinner. we had a blast and were completely charmed by the neighborhoods we’ve previously always bucketed into the “too touristy” category. the night was a perfect reminder how important it is to be curious about where you live and open to breaking routines to visit new spots. that being said, if you haven’t been to sf’s north beach neighborhood, here’s a few great spots for date night {or really any day/night} ideas!

15 Romolo – hidden in an alley near the strip clubs, BUT great spot for cocktails {with a photo booth!}

Church Key – a beer drinker’s paradise. carefully curated draft beer list daily, plus a huge menu of bottled beer. very relaxed vibe

City Lights Bookstore – amazing bookstore. go!

Comstock Saloon – this spot was so charming for fancy cocktails and small bites! beautiful decor in a historic building with two bars/seating areas.

EDEN & EDEN {pictured above} – adorable boho-chic boutique in the north beach/jackson square area. we stopped in before grabbing drinks and ended up admiring the beautiful clothes and chatting with the manager for 10 minutes!

Park Tavern – upscale American food. haven’t been yet, but dying to try it!

Tony’s Pizza Napoletana – worth the crazy line! if you’re lucky, snag a seat at the bar and eat there instead of waiting. there’s so many different types of delicious pizza {plus pasta, salads, etc.}

Tosca Cafe – Italian-American spot that everyone raves about. haven’t been here yet either unfortunately, but on my to-do list.

Vesuvio – this two-story eclectic dive bar is where jack keroauc used to drink in the city! amazing spot for people watching inside the bar and out the windows looking into north beach.
