this past thursday, i attended the incredible taste of the nation event and wanted to share some photos! as mentioned in a previous post, the event brings together amazing local chefs who make food for guests to sample and enjoy. the event benefits no kid hungry, a movement that partners with local nonprofits to make sure children are getting the food and nutrition that they need. they are still tallying numbers from the event, but the latest i heard was that the event raised over $250,000 to end child hunger. so amazing!
aimee and i went together last year and had a blast, but this year, it was even more fun to have rob, eric and shikha (who also has an awesome food blog) join us. we enjoyed lots of yummy food and wine and had a blast together! one of my favorite parts of the event is getting to try food from restaurants that are either 1. really fancy / expensive / hard to get a reservation for or 2. i didn’t even know existed! i already have a big list going of amazing spots to visit for brunch or dinner soon, including ICHI sushi in the mission, old bus tavern in bernal heights, scotland yard and nick’s cove up north on highway 1.
here’s some photos from the amazing event – my pictures don’t do any of the food justice! i highly recommend that you attend taste of the nation next year!
