I’ve never (ever) described myself as an athletic girl, but I do think I’m pretty active. I’ve always felt kind of uncomfortable in gyms and workout classes because I feel like I stick out like a sore thumb, not doing something right, etc. Lately though, I’ve been inspired and finally getting into my own grove with the whole work out thing though! I’ve been going to Mighty Pilates for over a year and that was the first place where I truly felt excited about working out, challenged and I enjoyed doing the classes. Very recently, I tried a class at a new studio in SF called Avant-Barre and left the studio feeling sore (in a good way) and so thankful for an amazing experience. I truly had this aha! moment where I felt like I was finally working out and feeling good about my body and feeling challenged, yet welcomed, all at once.
Every single person I met at Avant-Barre was kind, friendly and best of all, so encouraging. The founder, Nini, taught the class and she was so patient, easy to follow and TOUGH. The studio space was beautiful and literally a relaxing, calm oasis in the otherwise chaotic and busy Soma neighborhood in San Francisco. I’ve been to other barre classes before, but this was different in that it was focused around circuit-like training plus mixed in much more cardio. Literally, my arms, abs and thighs were very sore the next day and it was awesome. I’m already stoked to go back to a class later this week!
Thank you for this giveaway opportunity, Andi! I’ve literally been dying to try Avant Barre! It’s only a 10 minute walk from my office!
